The University of North Texas is one of the largest universities in America. Established in 1890, the University offers 112 bachelor's, 94 master's and 38 doctoral degree courses and is ranked as a tier 1 research university by the Carnegie Classification. One of the most diverse universities in the nation, UNT welcomes approximately 6,700 international students from over 145 countries each year to excel in their multicultural and collaborative environment. The University of North Texas’s Global Digital Retailing Research Center is the nation's first center to focus on digital retail research and talent development. Faculty and industry partners analyse trends and consumer behavior, plus advance the industry. The university has 13 faculty who have earned National Science Foundation CAREER awards. The Willis Library contains a high volume of classic and academic literature, alongside digital resources and vast study spaces. Lauded for its research, the University of North Texas has a research campus called Discovery Park. It features state-of-the-art laboratories, research centers, and collaborative spaces for various disciplines including engineering, science, and business.The university also houses specialised laboratories and research centers such as the Natural History Museum, the Center for Agile and Adaptive Additive Manufacturing, and more. Well-known for helping students to excel in the arts, UNT provides art galleries and studios for visual arts students to showcase their work. The College of Music offers practice rooms, rehearsal spaces, and performance halls for music students. UNT's health center provides medical services, counseling, wellness programs, and health education for students. Sports are a big part of university life, with the Apogee Stadium (football), the Super Pit (basketball), and the Mean Green Soccer Stadium available to students for participation and as a spectator. Student Life The University of North Texas was named one of the Safest College Campuses in the nation by Alarms.org four years in a row. The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education names the University as a top university for a diverse environment so international students settle in comfortably, with a range of cultural celebrations and specialised student clubs to participate in. UNT's Mean Greens dining hall received an A+ rating and Dean's List status for the sixth straight year on the 2019 Vegan Report Card. Over 450 student clubs are set up at the University - more than most universities, enabling students to join societies such as the Debate society, Engineers United and the Multicultural Greek Council.
