About Dublin City University

Dublin City University was created in 1975 as the National Institute of Higher Education, enrolling its first students in 1980. In 1989 it became a university by statute and adopted its current name, and in 2016 it incorporated four other institutions in Dublin. Today it has more than 18,000 students, and more than 20% are international students.It has been ranked in the top 4% of universities worldwide and is the only University on the island of Ireland to be featured in the QS Top 50 under 50.
