Course Overview This Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Science Education with a Physics specialization is a state-approved program designed to prepare individuals for certification to teach physics at the secondary level (grades 6-12). The program is ideal for both career-changers with a bachelor's degree in a related field and previously certified teachers seeking an additional certification. It combines rigorous graduate-level coursework with practical experience, culminating in a teaching internship and a comprehensive professional portfolio. Key Program Highlights Earn initial teaching certification for Physics in grades 6-12 in the state of Florida. Complete a minimum of 39 credit hours beyond the bachelor's degree, including a required teaching internship. Develop a professional portfolio demonstrating mastery of the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPs).
