About University of Central Florida
The University of Central Florida was founded in 1963, opening five years later as Florida Technological University. The aim was to provide personnel to support the US space program at the nearby Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. While it remains “America’s Space Universityâ€_x009d_ its focus has expanded and it became a university in 1978.It has 70,000 students each year across its 13 colleges and over 230 degree programs, this includes international students from 157 countries.
