It has three campuses - the main one in Wivenhoe Park near Colchester along with Southend-on-Sea and Loughton. There are around 17,800 students with a third of them coming from more than 140 countries around the world.The University of Essex was named University of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards in 2018.
