Course Overview The BSc Microbiology course explores how microbes shape our world and contribute to major global challenges such as antimicrobial resistance, food security and the climate crisis. You’ll study the impact of microbiology on human, environmental and planetary health while developing specialist knowledge in medical and environmental microbiology. Through a combination of core and optional modules, you will build practical and theoretical expertise across diverse microbiology fields and undertake an independent research project in your final year.
