Course Overview This program prepares future educators for a professional license to teach in elementary grades 1-6, with a specialized focus on bilingual and bicultural education. You will gain the credentials to teach in both Spanish/English-bilingual and English-speaking classrooms, enriched by a deep understanding of Hispanic cultures. Key Program Highlights Earn state approval for bilingual education and a professional educator's license for grades 1-6. Complete a yearlong teaching internship in a bilingual classroom within a Chicago-area Professional Development School (PDS). Develop expertise in the Spanish language and Hispanic cultural studies.
