Course Overview
As one of the physical sciences, chemistry deals with the nature and properties of matter at the most fundamental level β molecular and atomic. In determining the properties and composition of matter, chemists are often able to develop new materials and find practical uses for them. Undergraduates are encouraged to do independent research in a field such as organic, inorganic or polymer synthesis, nanotechnology, drug design, laser spectroscopy or environmental analysis. The Department of Chemistry maintains: Internships, cooperative education experiences and volunteer opportunities are available.
