Course Overview This course offers an anti-racist exploration of the global Black experience, from Africa and the Americas to the diaspora. Students will employ an interdisciplinary Ethnic Studies framework to analyze critical issues like anti-blackness and social structures while celebrating the vast contributions of Black people to human civilization. Key Program Highlights Examines global Black experiences, including African American, Afro-Latinx, and African diasporic communities Utilizes an interdisciplinary approach that values both academic and non-academic knowledge production Interrogates the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, class, and ability Analyzes critical contemporary issues such as policing and anti-blackness Celebrates the profound and enduring contributions of Black people to world history and culture
