Course Overview Contra Costa College's Africana/African American Studies program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum focused on the holistic understanding of the African and African American experience. Modeled after the pioneering program at San Francisco State University, it equips students with advanced critical thinking skills and prepares them to become effective agents of change in their communities and the world. Students can earn an Associate in Arts degree by completing the major requirements.
