Course Overview The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Stage Technology and Design at CSU East Bay provides comprehensive, pre-professional training in the technical and creative aspects of theatrical production. Students gain hands-on experience in scenic, lighting, sound, and costume design while developing a strong foundation in theatre history and aesthetics. This program prepares graduates for a wide range of careers behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. Key Program Highlights Hands-on training in state-of-the-art facilities, including a 450-seat proscenium theatre, scene shop, and costume shop. Comprehensive curriculum covering scenic painting, computer-aided design (CAD), stage management, and costume construction. Opportunities to work on 5-8 department productions annually, providing real-world experience. Development of a professional portfolio through the required Technology and Design Studio course. Preparation for diverse careers including scenic design, stage management, technical direction, and arts management.
