Course Overview This one-year MPhil programme delves into the complex forces shaping European identities, from nationalism and migration to cultural memory and ideology. Students will develop critical analytical skills through a blend of theoretical frameworks and real-world case studies, preparing them for careers in cultural and policy sectors. The course is uniquely enhanced by a study trip to Leuven and an optional internship with a leading cultural institution or NGO. Key Program Highlights Examines identity through interdisciplinary lenses including politics, history, literature, and visual culture. Includes a funded, structured study trip to the Leuven Institute for Ireland in Europe. Offers an optional professional internship with an approved NGO or cultural institution. Provides dedicated one-on-one supervision for a substantial 15,000-20,000 word dissertation. Allows for specialization by choosing from thematic modules on Europe's cultural histories or its literary and visual cultures.
