Course Overview The Bachelor of Science in Foundational Mathematics is specifically designed to address California's critical need for qualified math teachers. This program equips students with a robust understanding of mathematical principles while integrating essential education theory and methods, preparing them to become effective and caring educators in middle and high school settings. Key Program Highlights Graduates are exempt from the first two parts of the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) in mathematics. Curriculum combines classical mathematics study with practical courses in education theory and teaching methods. Prepares students to teach all mathematics courses up to (but not including) calculus and AP statistics. Program includes prerequisites for a California single-subject teaching credential.
