Course Overview This major immerses students in the foundational cultures of the Mediterranean by exploring their languages, literature, art, and archaeology. Through this study, you will gain a profound and timeless perspective on universal human questions, from love and community to war and religion. The program equips you to analyze ancient evidence and apply its enduring patterns to understand our modern world. Key Program Highlights Analyze primary evidence from archaeology and classical literature to develop critical thinking skills. Gain a deeper perspective on modern society by understanding its ancient roots and influences. Optional Latin or Greek language study to understand these cultures from the inside. Pursue an honors thesis project for high-achieving students (GPA 3.5+). Pairs excellently as a double major with complementary fields like English, History, or Anthropology.
