Course Overview
Course Overview The world is exciting but uncertain, facing challenges from climate change, migration and disease to new and ongoing conflicts. Democracies are under pressure amid rapid changes in communication and growing misinformation. Studying international relations gives you the tools to understand and respond to these global issues. Our master's degree in International Relations and Global Challenges helps you develop the skills and knowledge needed for careers in politics, government, the military, public affairs, diplomacy, think tanks and academia. You’ll learn from leading academics who will help you understand how we reached this point, how global systems operate today and the major threats shaping our future. The programme places particular emphasis on challenges involving China, India and the nations of the Global South, reflecting our experts’ specialist research. Teaching for the full-time course is scheduled in the late afternoons and early evenings, supporting those who want to develop their career while studying. A part-time Distance Learning option offers further flexibility. On-campus full-time and part-time study begins in September. The part-time distance learning route also offers a January start.
