Course Overview The PhD in Architecture at Queen’s is a research-intensive program that critically examines the role of design within our complex global context, including urgent challenges like sustainability, cultural identity, and technological change. The program is uniquely structured to support both traditional academic research and innovative practice-based design investigations, using architecture as both a lens to analyze and a tool to shape our built environment. Students are guided by expert faculty to produce a significant thesis, culminating after three years of full-time or six years of part-time study.
