Course Overview This innovative and diverse MA explores major themes in the history of Europe, North America and the wider world from the early modern period to the present day. You’ll engage with contemporary historiographical debates while developing advanced research and analytical skills. The programme prepares you to design and undertake an original research project grounded in cutting-edge historical methodology. Key Program Highlights Explore themes such as histories of the body, emotions, environment, identity politics and the ‘cultural turn’ in history. Examine modern and contemporary issues including human rights, war and violence. Engage with community archives, digital resources and family histories to understand public and people’s history. Develop expertise in historiography, including the ‘cultural turn’ and ‘global turn’. Design and complete an individual research project supported by advanced methodological training.
