Course Overview This MSc programme provides a multidisciplinary approach to understanding management, gender, and consumption within contemporary work and organizational contexts. Students will engage in critical analyses of post-industrial service work, the impact of ‘corporate culturism’ on power and identity, organizational transformation, and the emotional or aesthetic labour within workplaces. The programme also delves into the complexities of gender identities in organizations, and how consumption and market dynamics influence culture, knowledge production, and rationality in various sectors. Key Program Highlights Explore the dynamics of post-industrial and knowledge-driven service work, corporate power and identity. Examine the role of gender in organizations, with a focus on masculinity at work and gender identities in the workplace. Analyze the changing nature of consumption, and critically evaluate rationality in accounting, economics, and public sector organizations. Study the philosophy and methodology of social institutions, focusing on deconstructionist methodologies and ethnographic research. Gain insights into innovative management practices, organizational change, and workplace emotional or aesthetic labour.
