Master of Engineering Technology (Mining)

Course Overview Become a mining engineer responsible for planning the safest and most effective way of removing minerals – protecting both people and the environment. As a professional mining engineer you will oversee teams of engineering technologists and skilled trade staff to construct the designs you have created and work at a theoretical level to isolate analyse and define engineering outcomes. Mining engineers are in high demand in Australia and the Asia Pacific Region and work in all parts of the industry including feasibility studies mine design and managing production and sales. Key Program Highlights This course provides you with real experience in your chosen profession, through our Co-operative Model. You will undertake a minimum of 30 days (225 hours) paid placement in industry – contributing directly to course credits. Federation University will arrange the placements for you through our network of industry partners.Flexible placements options are available which include full time over one semester, part time over an extended period or in blocks embedded into your subjects.
