Course Overview This course provides a comprehensive overview of the major research areas within the School of Psychology, exploring the biological, cognitive, and social mechanisms that underpin behavior. Students will engage with cutting-edge research that bridges theoretical inquiry with real-world clinical and organizational applications. The curriculum is structured around four core research groups, offering a holistic understanding of psychological science from animal models to human complexities. Key Program Highlights Foundational exploration of four key research groups: Animal Behaviour, Clinical Psychology, Cognition, and Social/Environmental/Organisational Psychology. Bridging of human psychology with evolutionary animal models to understand the causes and functions of behavior. Clinical research focus on evidence-based treatments for mood disorders, addiction, obesity, and cognitive health in ageing. In-depth study of cognitive processes, including associative learning, memory, executive control, and neuropsychology. Examination of social identity, group behavior, and the application of psychology in environmental and organizational settings.
