Course Overview This midwifery degree prepares you to become a skilled and autonomous practitioner, serving as the lead professional for healthy pregnancies and a key care coordinator for complex cases within a multidisciplinary team. The program combines rigorous theoretical teaching with extensive practical placements across various clinical settings to develop your expertise. You will graduate equipped to provide empathetic, safe, and trustworthy care from the antenatal period through labour and the postnatal period. Key Program Highlights Extensive practical placements in maternity hospitals, midwifery-led units, and community areas, supported by practicing midwives. Lead your own caseload in a final-year case holding placement, providing continuity of care for families. Learn through interactive teaching, simulation in state-of-the-art clinical skills labs, and case-based workshops. Gain international perspective on healthcare through the DMU Global programme, with opportunities to witness midwifery care worldwide. Receive financial support with all students receiving at least £5,000 a year, with additional funding available.
