Course Overview This course offers a unique research opportunity focused on film and screen studies beyond the Western canon, with a specific emphasis on Africa, Asia, and the Near and Middle East. It critically examines the industries, cultures, and transnational flows of media that operate outside the dominant Hollywood and European frameworks. Students will engage with the transformative power of the image in a globalized, multimedia world.
